The Caglio trail branches off from the DTL: Mulattiera Alta (High Mulepath) at a large rock that is brightly painted in yellow with CAGLIO printed on it - you can't miss it.

The character of this trail is very different from the DTL: Mulattiera Alta (High Mulepath).

It starts as a narrow singletrack with a fair cross slope. Then it enters the forest and eventually it becomes a forest road with a number of switchbacks, but still it continues the sharp descent. It ends at the via ai Monti (Road to the Mountains), which takes you to the town of Caglio.
