Description

Compared to the Novitiate Trail/ Range Trail on the north side of St. Joseph's Hill, this is the easier way up. It winds around through the brush with great views of the reservoir and surrounding hills. The grade is mostly mild with a bit of a grunt up the final hill. Terrain ranges from packed dirt to some moderately rocky sections. Many different loops are possible here and most of the singletrack (what there is) is accessible from Manzanita.

Top of St. Joseph's Hill Open Space Preserve. Can't tell from the photo, but it was windy as sin at the top.
