Description

Novitiate Trail connects from the Jones Trail to the looping trails on top of St. Joseph's Hill. At its far end, it descends to a dead end known as the Pit of Despair. The lower part of Novitiate is steep and a bit rocky. Parts of the little-used section between the Range Trail and the Pit are also quite loose and rocky and offer some good climbing challenges.
