Overview
A quick loop through the Coyote Valley Open Space Preserve with a little elevation and some nice views. This is a great after work ride to get out and enjoy some fresh air.
Need to Know
Beginning Saturday, March 30, the one-way trail at Coyote Valley Open Space Preserve will open for multi-directional use by hikers and equestrians, while maintaining its one-way status for bicycles.
Every month, the direction of the trail for mountain biking will be adjusted, and signage will guide cyclists on whether to go in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction. See
openspaceauthority.org/pres… for current status.
Description
It's all manicured gravel for hiking and biking with no technical sections and just a bit of climbing. The entrance has some cow gates to cross through, just lift to access and follow the signs. Be sure to leave the gates as you find them. There are no intersecting trails off of the
Arrowhead Loop Trail, so navigating is simple and straightforward. The loop can only be ridden in the clockwise direction.
After the rain, when everything is green, there are nice views of the valley and picnic tables and scenic outlook areas along the way make a great place to enjoy a snack.
