Description

Quartz loop is a moderate 1.7 mile loop that is embedded in the center of the larger Chestnut Mountain Loop. The loop begins and ends at a relatively confusing intersection consisting of two other trails: Chestnut Mountain Loop and 1330 Bypass. Fortunately, there is an obvious trail sign indicating the start of the loop.

Most mountain bikers ride this loop clockwise. The trail is the same tight, twisty singletrack you find throughout the rest of the Tanasi trail system and is part of the Black Bear Rampage 40 mile race.

Rode it twice. I figured I had ridden up all that elevation, so I might as well play a bit up there. 3.4mi
