A nice connector trail when making a loop out of any ride in Heart's Content, Ironwood Trail is actually shown on the map as Ironwood Loop and includes a part of Tanbark Trail. Don't let that confuse you though, as it's almost easier to navigate if you don't look at cross country ski maps at the trailhead.

The trail itself is another rail grade through a Hemlock valley, this time heading entirely downhill to intersect with Tom's Run Trail. Be on the lookout for optional lines on the side of the rail grade, as this usually means you are about to come into a section of standing water.
