Holy Bucket begins near the end of Holy Cross, where the trail meets the lower, wider valley floor. The trail spurs right from Holy Cross, contouring below a cliff band in the eastern half of the drainage. Holy Bucket climbs past a connector trail on the left, a 4-way junction with Gunny Loop, then a second connector trail to the left.

Just before reaching the parking lot (the end of this GPS track), Holy Bucket continues left as Clunker, which loops back, skirting the western half of the lower valley below Miramonte Rim trail; connecting back to Holy Cross.
