A long, wandering ridgeline ascent on a scenic doubletrack.

Overview

Description

This wide trail has nothing technical, but does have a few challenging slopes to climb. At times the climb seems like it will never end. There are a few false peaks, and a few downhills only to have to climb again.

Along the way, there are a number of descending trails to the right: Gilman Trail (this is hiking only!), Sycamore Trail, McDermont Trail.

The west entrance of North Ridge is closed, with no plan that I have heard to reopen it. At least that is the state at the date of this comment posting. Been that way for over a year now. However, you can still get to North Ridge from Sycamore Trail, and McDermont... still worth it for the climbing. Mar 14, 2016

Trail has been closed for 2 years and park representative; Gill Ryann, Sector Superintendent, Inland Empire/Chino, stated it will be 2 more years to study and fix. Four years to fix this popular, major trail is inexcusable. North Ridge is a great trail to get your legs under you training for early season hill climbing offering great views.
