North Table Mountain is an easy ride, great for beginners and intermediates looking to better their mountain biking skills. The climbs aren't the typical brutal front range climbs. There are a couple technical sections that allow you to hone in your riding skills. The top offers views of the foothills to the west, Golden to the south, and Denver to the east.
A seasonal closure of Rim Rock
Trail is in effect between February 1 through July 31 to protect active raptor nesting territory and ground-nesting bird habitat.
First, you'll start out in the West Parking lot. Ride north on the North Table Loop
. Stay left at the North Table Loop
and Mesa Top
Trail intersection. You can stay on the North Table Loop
or take the Tablerock Trail to the left. Continue North Table Loop
staying right at the 1st and 2nd neighborhood access trails. Continue staying right at the North Table Loop
and Lithic Trail
intersection. Here is a short climb, arriving at the intersection of North Table Loop
and Cottonwood Canyon Trail
. Go straight to stay on the Cottonwood Canyon Trail
to the top of the mesa.
Now you are done with a majority of the hard climb, and enjoy the smooth rolling doubletrack. At the intersection of Cottonwood Canyon Trail
and Mesa Top
Trail, turn right onto the Rim Rock
Trail. Stay left and complete the Rim Rock
Trail back to the Mesa Top
trail. At Mesa Top
, turn right and then your next left onto the Tilting Mesa Trail
. Turn right at the next intersection to get back on the North Table Loop
. Before descending down, you are going to get to a technical section that has a few rock stairs. After this technical section, stay on North Table Loop
backtracking to the parking lot.
