A newer addition to North Table Mountain provides a fast non-technical downhill option.

Overview

CLOSURE: Critical Bird Nesting Closure March 1 - July 31.

Description [Suggest Changes]

When it's not closed the Rim Rock trail provides a perfect extension to the North Table Mountain Loop. A rather flat approach leads to the northern rim of the mesa before looping back to the Mesa Top Trail via a fast and non-technical downhill section. After crossing a bridge you come to the Mesa Top Trail junction and head back west.

Here you'll repeat a very short section (0.2 miles) of the Mesa Top Trail before joining the Tilting Mesa Trail.

I guess this is a green in that it is not a hard climb and is not technical, but the downhill is actually super fun and if we could get the turns to be a little more banked it would compare to the downhills on 18 road in fruita. May 21, 2013
