Description

Chicken Corners is a nice diversion from a Lockhart Basin multi-day ride, or a good extension of Hurrah Pass.

You follow jeep road out to a narrow stretch, a spectacular viewpoint, and a short hiking trail extension that will have you biting your nails, even if heights don't usually bother you.

As one guidebook explains the trail name: "The road is quite wide as it crosses high above the Colorado River, but it's still very scary if you are not used to high shelf roads. Once through Chicken Corners, look across the River to Thelma and Louise Point. The final dramatic scene of the movie was shot there."
