This is primarily a downhill trail. Don't ride any time the creek is high, like in spring or after a lot of rain. You can scope it from the parking lot.

Overview

This is not for the faint of heart but is not as crazy as some people make it out to be. The exposed parts of the trail are not very technical but its a long ways down to the river. You probably won't even notice the exposure because your so focused on the trail and how much fun your having.

Description

Don't ride in the spring when the creek is high as you have to cross it at the end of the trail. Look for a road going north from the Amasa Back road just north of the powerline. Follow road down to the intersection with Rockstacker - this is the beginning of Jackson's.

Over all, it's not as hard as Portal. There is one spot in particular towards the bottom that is the crux. It rides better than it looks but scope it before hand. You get to the bottom and hit Kane Creek. Turn right and follow a traverse that hopefully keeps you above the creek. Near the parking you turn left and cross the creek.

Jackson's has more than enough rock to keep you both smashing and jumping your way to the bottom.

Fun, but very exposed, I walked in several spots not because it was too technical but because you are right on the edge of a cliff. 2.3mi
