Trail shared by Michael Ahnemann

A slightly more difficult trail cutting through the middle of the park.

This trail is probably still rideable by most riders, but it's a bit more challenging than the Green Mountain Loop. It's singletrack, which makes it a nice trail to add to a loop in this area, rather than riding the doubletrack section of Green Mountain Loop along the ridge.

Starting at the top along the ridge, this trail heads mostly downhill for close to a mile. It's somewhat steep in places, with some smaller loose rocks, so beginners will want to take it slow. More advanced riders will find it adds some fun to a ride in this area.

You'll reach a junction about a third of the way down. Stay right to get on the Rooney connector that takes you back towards the Rooney Road trailhead, or stay left to continue on the main Rooney Valley Trail.

The option to the left adds a couple of short steep climbs and descents, followed by a final descent on 2-track back down to the Green Mountain Loop, at the southern edge.

This has been completely redone and has a ton of built up switch backs and rollers with option jumps put in. A HUGE improvement and tons of fun!!!

Head ups. Looks like trail maintenance was done recently so expect new drainage ditches, etc. Some of the areas that were expanding to double track have been filled in with large boulders. Jun 16, 2017
Shhhhh! Don't read this post. This is worst trail on the mountain! The redesign of the trail is not worth riding. It awful!!!! Okay it's none of that is true and the secret is already out - this may be best flowy front range descender Period!!! and at Green Mountain???? Who would have thought?? It is truly awesome, not tech, just fun and fast with lots of turns, rollers, dips, small kickers, an all out rollercoaster. Not recommended for climbing - choose an alternate ascent to the top, then rip it down. You will easily find yourself wanting loop this one a few times.Cheers! Apr 12, 2019
