Description

Note: It's been strongly recommended that people ride this trail downhill (as mapped), but it is possible to encounter hikers and uphill riders as well, so be alert.

This trail is probably still rideable by most riders, but it's a bit more challenging than the Green Mountain Loop. It's singletrack, which makes it a nice trail to add to a loop in this area, rather than riding the doubletrack section of Green Mountain Loop along the ridge.

Starting at the top along the ridge, this trail heads mostly downhill for close to a mile. It's somewhat steep in places, with some smaller loose rocks, so beginners will want to take it slow. More advanced riders will find it adds some fun to a ride in this area.

You'll reach a junction about a third of the way down. Stay right to get on the Rooney connector that takes you back towards the Rooney Road trailhead, or stay left to continue on the main Rooney Valley Trail.

The option to the left adds a couple of short steep climbs and descents, followed by a final descent on 2-track back down to the Green Mountain Loop, at the southern edge.
