Overview

This loop incorporate five great sections of Salida singletrack into one sweet ride. Must like climbing...

Description

From the F Street parking lot, cross the railroad tracks and climb up all of Frontside. All warmed up? Then recover a bit by climbing the easier Lil Rattler trail all the way to the saddle where it meets the top of Rusty Lung. Ride straight up the hill towards North Backbone, but stay right and continue up 173. This is a steep and loose gravel road, which gets tricky in a couple of spots.

Pass the Sand Dunes trail, keep going up 173. Pass Pauli and turn left down Dude Abides! Don't forget to check out the optional features and lines on the way down. At the bottom, turn left on North Backbone. This will take you back to 173, coast down (mind the gravel) back to the intersection of Lil Rattler, Backbone, and Rusty Lung. Turn sharp right down Rusty Lung. Be aware of other users around some of the blind turns.

Enjoy the flow, rollers and small jumps, cross Spiral Drive (watch for cars) and continue down lower Rusty Lung, all the way to the Pepper trails. Turn left on Poblano, and right on Sgt Pepper down to the gravel road. Turn sharp left and follow the road towards the railroad cross, turn right to get back to the F Street parking lot.
