A different option to get up to (or go down from) the Backbone / North Backbone trails.

Overview

Dogs: Leashed

Description

This latest addition to the S-Mtn trail system is a new connector from Spiral Drive to the Backbone / Lil Rattler / North Backbone / 173 intersection. Just shy of a mile long, this intermediate two-way trail offers users a new experience on S-Mtn; a mini roller-coaster pump-track on the way down (don't ride it just once, go back and ride it again to learn the nuances and get most out of it - it's what the locals do!), and a steeper more challenging experience on the way up, compared to Lil Rattler.

Look toward great views to the west, and S-Mtn to the south for a scenic experience.

This is a multi-use trail, with a few blind turns, please be aware of slower users along this route.

This trail was built by Tony Boone Trails LLC, for Salida Mountain Trails.
