This is an off-road motorcycle trail, so be on the lookout, though it is low traffic. Stay overnight or park at Mulberry Gap Mountain Bike Getaway nearby for great food, showers, beer, and great lodging too!

Description

This is a motorcycle trail that's also open to bikes. The top is really rocky and narrow with some exposure. After the first mile or so the trail changes character to more loose doubletrack that continues to open up more and more on the way down. There are some extremely steep sections and grade reversals that make for great opportunities to catch some air.

It's about 30 miles to self-shuttle from the Windy Gap trailhead on mostly gravel to the top.

First two miles at the top of the trail are heavily overgrown. Hiked the bike 1/4 of the trail. Best for a full suspension bike with big tires

Tough climb. Starts as a doubletrack most of the way and ends up as a rocky singletrack. Pretty technical. Had to hike a bike at least a couple time — 1h 30m
