Overview

This route starts at the Poison Creek trailhead.

Need to Know

eMTBs have access from July 1 - Sept 9.

Description

Starting from the Poison Creek trailhead, climb steadily on Wally's World #4207A through big pine and aspen forests. As the trail ascends the last bit of the initial climb, it breaks out of the trees and into fantastic views. Take a look back to your right, the Teton Range is visible to the north.

Wally's World #4207A continues to climb along the ridge heading south. In spring, the wildflowers will be in full force.

The trail descends after reaching a knoll along the ridge. Get ready for some fun and flow that dives back into the trees before arriving at a busy intersection with Poison Creek #4207, Tusky Ridge #4206, and Squaw Creek #4205B.

Continue straight onto Squaw Creek #4205B and a enjoy a playful descent across grassy hillsides into aspen and pine groves. After crossing a bridge, the trail streaks across another hillside and then falls down another quick descent through the aspen to the intersection with Tusky Ridge #4206 and Big Munger #4205.

Bear right to tackle the toughest part of the ride. Big Munger #4205 greets you with an extremely steep climb. The tread is likely to be loose and rocky so crank your way through to the top. Once you top out, the grade is much easier as it follows a long shoulder to the top of Munger Mountain. Enjoy the expansive views before a raucous descent to the Big Munger trailhead.

Stay right to pedal up Rock Creek #4205A back around to Squaw Creek #4205B. Stay straight to ride through the meadow once more and then turn left at Tusky Ridge #4206. From here, ride a short distance and then take a quick right onto Cosmic Carol's #4206A. That's a quick hit as well. Jump on Poison Creek #4207 at the very next intersection, stay left, and then settle on for a moderate and winding climb to the upper end of Tusky Ridge #4206.

At the top, head back down via Tusky Ridge through beautiful stands of aspen. Bear left at the bottom to retrace your steps on Cosmic Carol's and then stay right on Poison Creek for the last bit of the ride back to the start.
