Overview
Ferrin's Trail, on Snow King Mountain, is a popular downhill known for its fast and flowy singletrack at an intermediate to advanced difficulty. It's typically started from Cache Creek or Snow King trailheads and can be linked with different trails including
Skyline Trail and Wilson Canyon to complete a larger loop. It's commonly done as a quick ride there and back from one of the two trailheads.
Description
I enjoy riding this trail from the Snow King trailhead for a slightly longer downhill.
Begin at the base of Snow King Resort and locate the Shade Monkey Trail which switchbacks the base of the main top-to-bottom ski run. The trail switchbacks through the trees then connects with
Sink or Swim #4031 which crosses the resort at a mellow grade. Keep on the trail into the trees on the other side of the resort, past Hagen Highway to the junction for Ferrins.
Keep in mind while biking up Ferrins, riders will be zooming downhill. Uphill travelers have the right of way, but still keep very aware at blind corners.
Follow the trail to the saddle between the
Skyline Trail ridge and Snow King Mountain. The first bit of downhill is fast flowy turns then moves quick through the woods. Parts of the trail can be narrow weaving between trees. Enjoy!
