The Sky Pilot is a ripping trail no matter which direction you ride it. Near the middle of the trail, you'll cross the North Country Trail, a national scenic trail that leads from North Dakota to New York.

Stop at the NCT crossing, check out the trail sign and reflect on the numbers of hikers that have traversed the longest (when completed) continuous hiking trail in the United States.

On Sky Pilot, you can also take a detour onto the Fire Tower loop and take in the old Udell Fire Tower as well as add on a mile or so of trail and end up at the bottom of the Sky Pilot.

The Sky Pilot is host to a secret pond in the Udell that has been known for black bear sightings as well as a few mosquito sightings, too. Enjoy the "Bitchin' Berms" of the Udell while riding the Pilot, but, of course, you'll have to climb to the top in order to earn the rewards of the flowing downhill on the other side.
