The Post Canyon Recreation Area is a multi-use trail network formed of Hood River County property and a patchwork of State Park, USDA Forest Service, and private land. The area is also an ongoing tree farm operation, so be aware of potential closures. Expect traffic in both directions and yield to hikers and equestrian riders.

Description

This is primarily a climbing route for ATVs, but it does offer a unique challenge for bikers wishing to explore on tricky terrain.

Starting with a short climb off of the Riordan Hill Road, 2 Chair (160) follows the ridge line for about a mile before splitting down to Dirt Surfer (172). Along the way, it unleashes blazing-fast doubletrack, some steep ruts with roots, and beds of baby heads just waiting to displace riders.

The result can be amusing, if you find the challenge of a constantly shifting terrain enjoyable. Otherwise, this trail is probably not what you're looking for. The trail does get the occasional raking from kind hearted locals leading up to any bike race that takes place on this trail.
