Description

This is a nice trail to take downhill from Skyline Blvd to Alpine Road (trail). The top half is a paved and gravel road shared by residents; the bottom half is an old logging road and singletrack section. This trail is steep in places--riding up is a huff-and-puff.

When riding down the top part of Crazy Pete's road be very careful for cars, horses, dogs, deer, etc. It is very easy to go too fast and the consequences would be bad. Upon entering the open space preserve half way down Crazy Pete's road, stay to the left (north) for a better downhill trail.

Note that Crazy Pete's is only open to the public on the east side of Skyline. On the west side of Skyline it is not open to the public (it's well-signed) and rangers do patrol at times.

Great trail. Lots of uphill initially but worth it for the long downhill.
