The Boullion Gulch Loop covers the western side of the Croy Creek Trail System. The route features a few major climbs, plenty of fun descending and beautiful views throughout.

Riding clockwise is recommended to make the most of the big descent from the saddle on the upper portion of Two Dog.

Optionally, the route could be started from the main trailhead, off Croy Creek road.

The Croy Creek trails underwent major renovations after the Beaver Creek Fire in 2013. The trail system re-opened July 1, 2015, and the trails are still settling in. Conditions may vary - expect a few soft and sandy spots here and there.

Parking is limited along Bullion Gulch road with a few small spots between Bullion Connector Trail and the western end of Two Dog.

From Bullion Gulch Road, start on the western end of Two Dog up a long and steady climb up a large dry hillside through a series of switchbacks into a big drainage. The trail straightens out for a short time and then in and out of a small gully, before resuming the contouring climb up the north side on a long run of singletrack.

The route turns right, around the head of the valley, and proceeds through one more steep-ish turns before reaching the high point - a saddle that overlooks a large dry valley with rugged peaks in the distance.

From here, Two Dog begins the first part of its longest descent on rolling, exposed trail across a steep hillside. As you finish this section and round the base of the hill, the view opens up into the main part of the trails system and the Croy Creek valley.

The end of this descent goes through a series of bermed turns and around a knoll to an intersection with Centerline.

Turn right and enjoy a continuous descent with many bermed turns. At the bottom, stay right again to ride Wilson Gulch, a short but scenic trail. Begin this section of the ride by pedaling over towards a lush drainage. The climb quickly transitions to a gentle descent through a couple of nice flowing turns.

Cross a narrow creek bed through a small grove of burnt aspens and then climb briefly again to gain the hillside above the drainage.

From here, descend gradually across the hillside to the bottom at an intersection with the Punchline Flow Trail.

Continue straight here to climb up to the Bullion Connector Trail. At the intersection stay right to start the traverse back to the beginning of the ride.

The Bullion Connector Trail climbs steadily up to a ridge and then traverses over somewhat narrow, rocky and challenging singletrack to a high point between the main trails and Bullion Gulch. This is another section with amazing views in all directions.

Continue along the contour to the west and then drop down into Bullion Gulch. Pedal back a short distance to the beginning of the ride.
