Steep and challenging on both ends, this ridge-top trail is a nice way to extend an "Oaks" ride.

Description

Climbing from the west is simply too steep, loose and rutted to stay in the saddle for anyone less than expert level, requiring us normal folk a few hikes to get to the plateau. The descent on the switchbacks, however, is super fun.

Climbing up the switchbacks from the east is the easiest way to the ridge, but still very challenging. The descent, however, is steep, loose, and rutted.

On the ridge top, the trail is easy and has beautiful views all around. There's a small, straight singletrack about half-way that climbs mildly west to east, this is a short-cut around a bend in the trail.
