Overview

This is a technical 4x4 trail. The nature of the trail allows for multiple lines to be taken with large drops, sandy pits, and just a whole bunch of fun.

Need to Know

You'll need to park a shuttle off the highway just a little past the Steinaker Reservoir. There is a turnoff with ample space to park on at the big curve at these coordinates: 4032'52.0"N 10931'33.2"W. You'll then drive back into town and around up to the bottom of the Red Mountain Hike-a-Bike.

Description

From the top of the Red Mountain Hike-a-Bike take a left onto the doubletrack and follow it down. The first mile or so is fairly sandy with rock outcroppings. The next couple of miles are rocky, steep and loose with a bunch of ledge and drop options. Just pick your own line and enjoy it. The bottom is a fun slickrock descent.

Here, you can either stick close to the 4x4 track and follow it down or choose your own route. It all leads to the same spot eventually. Be careful, however, some of the slickrock areas can be very steep. Once off of the slickrock, use the MTB Project mobile app to find the parking area where you left your shuttle car.
