Need to Know

The newest addition to the Greenbelt trail system, built during 2019, it's still a bit rugged but should smooth out after the snow melts and it's been ridden more.

This is a multi-use, multi-directional trail that can be ridden as an out-and-back or via the village roads connecting with the Bear and Coyote trails. A great trail to introduce new riders to park-style riding, from the top down you'll find a lot of downhill characteristics and the bermed switchbacks are perfect for honing your bike handling skills.

Description

Start at Monte Verde lake, the trail begins on the north side of Lakeview Park Drive to the right of the tree line. Ride up through the woods then follow a wide trail mowed through the tall meadow grass till you get to Cimarron Trail road, continue across the road about a hundred feet to the right.

The rest of the trail is a mix of machine-built singletrack and some sections that follow old forest road grades. Some fun berms and rollovers along the way add an interesting appeal, exhilarating climbs and flowy descents lead to the high point after three miles, then a tight downhill section through the forest to where the trail pops out on Sacramento Drive by a trailhead kiosk at the top.

3 parts: one very simple and easy; one flows really nicely, consists of many berms, and tight switchbacks; one is pretty technical with fun downhills
