This trail is a mellow smooth dirt path along the canyon bottom that starts near the Reservoir. Most of the trail is wide and smooth, with just a few rocky sections. The trail goes up Settlement Canyon along the southwest flanks of the canyon bottom. The trail is interrupted in a few spots by road pull-outs, campgrounds, and some social trails. But follow it to the southeast and it continues up canyon until the dirt road. Halfway up there is a gate for cattle grazing, so be sure to close the gate behind you. Above the gate the trail is a little rougher, due to less traffic and cattle post-holes, but it is still suitable for beginner intermediate riders.
