Family Friendly An easy ride with river and lake views.

Wilderness Area gated, open dusk to dawn.

Overview

A little dirt, a little nature, a little river, a little lake, before the option to end with wine tasting and a deli. This is an easy, fun little excursion. Bring a kayak, walk, and enjoy the area.

Need to Know

Option for a post-ride deli visit and a wine tasting room with local wines.

Description

Overall, this is a very easy ride. Start at the Lodi Lake parking area and take a ride around the wilderness area on the Lodi Lake Wilderness Trail. There are great views of the river and lake and information placards along the route describing plants and trees. You might see deer in the wilderness area.

Next, head west along the lollipop road that loops through a peninsula before returning to the parking area. From the parking area, the Lodi Lake Exercise Trail heads west again. From the westernmost point, you have the option to connect with J10 (Lower Sacramento Road) south down to Turner Road, where Wine & Roses is less than a block to the west with wine tasting and a deli.

The wine tasting center has a great array of local wines to taste and if you want to stay for dinner or overnight you can do that as well. People kayak along the river or around the lake, too.

History & Background

This lake was used for outboard motor boat races. The 4th of July fireworks for the city are launched from the lake.

Really fun ride. It's paved for those who want to walk around but there are some dirt trails to use your bike on. Was able to catch some deer. 4.4mi
