Description

This is similar to the Fenceline Loop (Porkchop) but bigger and gnarlier. What makes it memorable is not buffed consistent flowing trail, but an amazing setting on a bench above Dry Creek through the West Fork confluence. You'll get a "way out there" feel.

From the Fenceline marker, continue up Cowpoke Gulch Road 3.0 miles and 700' vertical to the upper BLM singletrack marker on the left. After a fun and too brief singletrack intro, the trail plunges steeply and loses almost all the hard-earned vertical gain from the road (yikes). Follow the trail down canyon past some amazing views, up and down some steep pitches (some hike-a-bike) and in out out of cool drainages. At time, the tread is nearly non-existent, so be sure to stay on the trail.

This is a difficult trail, but probably not a double black diamond, but it is a notch more rough and involved than Ewok Village. The lower end ties into a corner of the Fenceline Loop (Porkchop). Taking a left there would be a steep uphill back to the road, while right delivers more riding followed by a more reasonable climb back to the top.

Note this trail was created by and continues to be open to motorcycles. RiderS may consider an out-an-back spur off Fenceline on the lower bench to skip the road and brutal steep section to switch things up.
