Upper No Joke starts off of Upper Freight Train, shortly after the bridge crossing. The singletrack cuts through a small clump of trees before crossing over the Bear Cub Road and into another stand of trees. There are a few rough spots early on, but everything is pretty mild so far.

Make an easy crossing across a ski run before the trail swoops down to briefly merge with Una Moss. If you pedal into it, there is a small gap over some early season runoff that makes for Whistler's smallest creek gap. After that, get ready for a beat up section of punchy rock-armored trail. Upper No Joke does not mess around here when things are muddy. Even if it's dry, things are still rough, but you'll have much better luck sticking to your line.

On the other side, the singletrack loops out-and-back into a ski run making use of two narrow bridges. Once back in the trees, it's time for some more rough singletrack and tight switchbacks. There are two more bridge options to choose from. The right is an easier option that requires some speed to make it up, the left is an exposed coaster with deep plunges. Both options can be dicey in the wet and both feed directly into a very tight rock armored turn.

Watch for riders as you make the turn to merge onto the bottom of Una Moss, the two trails will overlap for a few more turns before Upper No Joke continues down to a gravelly road. There's a short tunnel along the road to add a little entertainment, there are even some wall rides built into it. After that, it's a straight stretch down the road to pick up the start of Lower No Joke on the left.
