This is a basic "off-road" pedal for kids just starting on mountain bikes, and the return is even easier.
Stay on the road and obey the posted signs. Bikes are not allowed off this roadway; you are surrounded by wilderness on both sides.
Description
Aside from a couple of short, dry wash crossings, this is a decent road surface that doesn't require a fat-bike tire. There are a few loose sections, but it's fairly easy rolling.
On the way east, you get a great view of the rock formations. You'll slowly approach the rocks and finally spot the narrow Kofa Queen Canyon.
On the return, you can clip along at a medium speed just by coasting. There's a nice view of the wide plain and the distant mountains, and at this speed you'll find a few fun, gentle dips and rises on the road.
The only facilities at the trailhead are a shade/shelter - no trash or toilets available.
Sandy doubletrack, watch out (listen for) OHVs. Some areas the sand gets deeeeep. The ride back is a long, low-grade descent that'll rattle your bones
