Family Friendly Wide paths and gentle gradients make this trail a great option for families with children.

Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve is open year round from one hour after sunrise to one hour after sunset.

Description

Nearly 10 miles of crushed limestone trail runs through the roughly 2,500 acre Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve that surrounds the Argonne National Laboratory. Along the Main Trail, you'll pass a model airplane field and a scenic overlook of the Des Plaines River. You can also take a side trip along the Rocky Glen Trail to see a waterfall constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s.

The trail tends to be well kept, and riders will enjoy the gently rolling terrain.
