Overview

The Cheat Mountain Loop is entirely on forest roads. It's a good option for those seeking an easy ride experience in the area.

Description

Start on Cheat Mountain Rd and pedal northeast past Whitmeadow and Crouch Ridge. You'll start with a quick descent followed by a short climb. At the top of Crouch Ridge, you'll start a longer descent.

Turn right on Yokum Run and continue descending towards the Shavers Fork River. Stay right at the bottom and pedal around the nose of a hill into the next drainage, Crouch Run.

From here, you'll have an extended climb back to Cheat Mountain Rd. Turn left at the top and return to the start of the ride.

Overall, the route is hard-packed gravel road through the forest.
