Overview

This is a great loop through aspen groves to scenic lakes. The descent is through shrub oak with epic views of the Elk Mountains.

Description

This trail is in the greater Thompson Divide Area. Accessed from Carbondale by heading up Thompson Creek Road #305 then head left on (South) Thompson Creek Road #306. Park in the Willow Park area to start and finish your ride.

Ride up Thompson Creek Road #306 through aspens and oak brush. Eventually, the Lake Ridge Lakes Trail #2093 trail sneaks up on you after the one downhill switchback on this road.

Climb on Lake Ridge Lakes Trail #2093 past the lakes. Make sure to hike the short trail to the lakes. From the top of the trail, there is a side trail headed to the point of the Lake Ridge (very cool!) that has the best views in the area.

From here, cruise down the backside of Lake Ridge Lakes Trail #2093 to Thompson Creek Road #305. Then head left on the road back to Willow Park.
