Closed to bikes December 1 through April 15 for wildlife management.

Description

Fisher Creek is a nice route on BLM land off of Cattle Creek Road. The area is managed primarily for big game wildlife so it is closed to bikes in the winter months. The trails are old doubletrack that have mostly reverted to singletrack.

The trailhead is 3.7 miles up Cattle Creek Road from Highway 82. However, there is no parking at this point. The best parking is another 1.9 miles up Cattle Creek Road at a BLM day use area on the right side of the road. It is unsigned. From here, you can ride back to the trailhead or access the trails by using BLM Road 8292A.

The first part of the trail is a 4x4 road that is technically County Road 64. This is probably the steepest part of the ride. At the 0.60-mile mark, you'll ride around a fence and the real trail begins.

The next section can be rocky at times but it is all rideable. At the 1.65-mile point, the Fisher Creek Connector goes off to the left. The main trail continues straight ahead through the ruins of old ranch buildings. Mile point 3.5 pretty much finishes up the climbing as you come to another trailhead on Red Canyon Road.

From the Red Canyon Road trailhead, ride through a small gate back onto the trail. This section winds through open sage fields on singletrack. At mile point 4.4, you reach the intersection with BLM Road 8292A. Just beyond this intersection, the trail splits; take the left fork. The right fork is not open to bikes.

The trail continues another 1.1 miles to a dead-end and an overlook of the valley. The ride back to the trailhead is great with almost no climbing.
