From the Thunderhead gondola lift, make your way over to the start of the Tenderfoot trail. Start on Tenderfoot and within a 100 yards you'll branch off to the right to start Flying Diamond.

Flying Diamond was built with one purpose in mind...high speed jumps on a downhill course. It's a smooth trail full of jumps, small ledges, dramatic level changes, and steep banked turns. There are no tabletops to be found on Flying Diamond so you either need to fully commit to flying the obstacle or slowly rolling over the top. Trying to do anything in-between might lead to a crash. Most of the jumps have a small but immediate drop after the lip. A few of the jumps are ledges where you'll need to commit to the jump or be prepared to slowly roll down the back on a two foot stack of rocks.

It's an enormous amount of fun and a welcomed change of pace on the Steamboat mountain.
