Description

The Trail Gulch leg of the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail is a brake scorcher. After a steep climb from Little Silverlead up to a narrow saddle, the tread drops 1200' in the next mile.

The trail winds down across an open sage face, then hits the trees to parallel the bottom of the Trail Gulch drainage.

Near the bottom, the trail emerges from the woods for a short last shot to the trailhead.
