Description

From Deer Flat, the climb is less severe than the upper part of Mitchell Canyon Fire Road, but it's a steady grind nevertheless as the trail brings you ever closer to the summit. After switchbacking to the top of the ridge, you'll reach the junction with the Burma Road - Summit Rd to North Gate Road. Stay left as the trail follows the ridge a short distance to the Juniper Campground and the junction with the Summit Trail - Mt. Diablo (paved road section).

Future park trail plans are to make the Juniper Trail to the summit a multi-use trail.
