Open all year from Tahoe Mountain Road. Fallen Leaf Road is closed in winter.

Description

This trail was rerouted in 2017 due to severe erosion issues. The new reroute makes this trail longer with a couple added rock gardens and two very large and long log rides toward the bottom that are lots of fun to ride.

Park at the top of Tahoe Mountain on Deveron Way, and the trail starts to the right by the sign posted clearing between the giant houses. Climb for ~10 Minutes on tight switchbacks to a Y. From here the views of Meyers, Freel Peak, and Christmas Valley are amazing - don't miss them.

After you'd had your fill of views, take the lower trail and start the descent. The first obstacle is a large rock roll-over with a ride around option. Banked turns continue the fun as they lead down through an old section of burned trees from the Angora Fire.

Be aware, there are three main rock gardens you travel through, but each is short lived (15-20 feet). There is a banked turn that goes through a creek bed that has some loose sand in it (go easy)! The bottom section is full of fun, fast turns that flow excellently.

This trail does very well after rain, but be sure to ride early morning for a Sunrise cruise. Ride and enjoy Tahoe Mountain!

Not sure why this is described as a shuttle ride as it is just as fun as a climb. Here is part of the new reroute section.

Great ride. A little loose in some upper sections that require you to break slide thru turns or just go slow.
