Access this trail at the top of Mountain Streams Trail or by riding on Tunnel Road. Alternatively it can be approached using Shafer Run Trail Loop.

Mountain View Loop trail works equally well in either direction. There are plenty of steep pitches but all of it is rideable. The trail is wide and grassy (usually mowed) in the upper part and then its standard doubletrack where it goes down to Shafer Run and back up. Along Shafer Run, the trail takes you on a dirt road. At the southern crossing of Shafer Run there is a ski warming hut. You'll also see the Laurel Highlands trail running along the opposite bank of Shafer Run. At this point you can also access the Shafer Run Trail Loop.
