Overview

This is the best trail in Wake Forest. It's close to the downtown area but it has a nice natural feel as it heads up and back the west shore of the reservoir.

Description

The best place to park is the dirt lot on the southwest side of the lake by the dam off of Traditions Grande BLVD. Take the trail north (an out-and-back, which you'll return on) until you dead end into the road (Oak Grove Church Rd).

Please be respectful of the homes near the trail. This property is owned by the City of Wake Forest and is a great resource for hikers and bikers.

A cool creek/rock crossing - beautiful scenery throughout this trail - quite a few exposed tree roots early on to manage.

Eventually, you'll find you're way back to the main trail on the other side of the same, second, cove.

As you come to this second cove, there is a fork coming. Stay left, again, to take another alternate route with a good climb and some new terrain.

The west side of the reservoir was rooty and not very flowy. The east side of the reservoir had great trails, lots of jumps, long tech. Down hills. 4.3mi — 0h 40m
