Description

The Elm Grove trail is a steep footpath connecting The Oval to Lake Drive at Elm Grove. It has several very steep switchbacks and a few rock stairs. This should be considered a hike-a -bike section. It is one of two connections from trails near Washington Blvd to Lake Drive. Lake Grove Trail via Bigelow Trail Extension is another alternative.

This path was originally built during the "Works Progress" era of the 1930's as are several other trails in Highland Park.
