Family Friendly Easy access from nearby neighborhoods and gentle grades make this a great choice for families. Continue on to Dixie Mountain Loop and turn around at any point for a gentle, downhill ride home.

Trail Hours: 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Trail access is not immediately visible from the roadway, and no parking is available. To access the trail, continue off-road about 400 ft. southeast of the intersection of Paloma Pkwy and Sonoran Desert Dr. A metal gate and Phoenix Sonoran Preserve sign marking the beginning of the trail become visible shortly after leaving the road.

Need to Know

If using Bobcat Trail to continue through from either the northern or southern half of the Preserve to the other, note that the intervening trails are private property. Your best route would be to follow Paloma Pkwy and Dove Valley Rd to/from Ocotillo Trail's intersection with the West Skip Rimsza Paseo just east of the crosswalk on Dove Valley.

Description

This trail is an entry/exit path to/from the southern section of the Sonoran Preserve. The path is on a shallow grade, descending from south to north. At the end of the trail there is a gate which has an access point to go through. From here, you can continue heading north through a groomed dirt path that will lead you to the northern section of the preserve.
