Description

Lower Long Trail begins with some more flowing singletrack that starts in the woods but quickly exits into an open meadow. The trail surface is pretty smooth with few loose and embedded rocks. Flow through the high speed, swooping berms in the meadow and quickly pop back into the woods. There are whoops, bumps and rocks fairly frequently that make for good launch ramps for the more intermediate to advanced rider.

Eventually, Lower Long trail passes under a large wooden structure which carries No Quarter trail overhead. From here, Lower Long Trail flows quickly through the pine and Aspen forest. Again, the trail is well built such that more skilled riders can pop off of all sorts of little ramps along the way, while less experienced riders can easily roll over everything. Get ready for a series of well-groomed steep berms and more flowing singletrack! Next, you'll encounter a built wood to dirt drop that's about two feet tall. This feature can easily be rolled or bypassed. Just after the drop, there is another wooden feature. This time it is an A-frame of sorts that can either be aired over with speed, rolled over slowly or bypassed all together.

Lower Long Trail then dumps out onto the main doubletrack access road. Take a hard left onto this access road and an almost immediate right again back onto the trail. Flow down a short hill, through a right-hand berm and start up the next pitch. As you start to go up the pitch, you'll see that one trail branches back off to the left downhill, while another continues uphill to the right. Stay right here, drop into an easy gear, and start to grind up a short, nontechnical climb into the woods. It is advisable to skip this section of Lower Long Trail if you are riding a full DH or park bike.

Enjoy some peace and quiet while you pedal over easy and wide trail through the woods. Eventually, the pitch drops off again and you'll start down the final descent of Lower Long Trail. This section of trail is much more akin to normal trail riding - with roots, rocks and non banked switchbacks - and could prove more challenging for beginner riders. Flow through two more berms and you'll come across the final feature: a wooden bank that leads you part-way through a dirt berm. This is nothing technical and could be done by beginners.

At this point you've reached 300 Yard Walk and can access Boot Camp, The Boulevard, Green World or Tunnel Hill Trail.
