Prospect Trail (GH 41) begins on Gold Run Road and ends at Prospect Road (GH 38) in the western portion of the Golden Horseshoe (GH). It is a good connector between the Highland's Flume Trail and the French Gulch Trails.

The trail is south facing, making it a good early and late season option. There are numerous aspen along the trail which makes it an excellent choice for late season riding.

This description includes a short section of singletrack near the bottom of Gold Run Road that can be used as an alternative to the road.

Begin on Gold Run Road and look for a singletrack on the left side of the road. Take the singletrack and climb through a switchback back to Gold Run Road. Take a left on the road and take the first doubletrack on the right side of the road.

The trail passes through 4 switchbacks then straightens. Pass a garage and home after 1/2 mile. Shortly after this home the trail tops out, descends briefly and begins to climb again.

After a mile pass Side Door on the right. Shortly after this intersection the trail levels off and after another 1/2 mile ends at Prospect Gulch Road. The intersection is marked with a post.
