From the intersection with Elbow Valley trail at the end of Sulphur Springs, Riverview drops down the hill to the highway. After crossing the road the trail continues on the flat and converges with the Elbow river. At a T intersection turn right, downhill, to keep the river view going as long as possible before entering the Paddy's Flat campground.

The trail runs right along the river bank, over (or around) a rock feature, and finally turns away from the river. It climbs somewhat sharply, switchbacking left and right as it steps up between the levels of the campground. The last step up to the highway has to be made via the main access road. Cross the road and climb for less than 200m to rejoin the Elbow Valley trail.
