Description

Lewis Morris gets a lot of traffic in general but the Yellow Trail is probably the most traveled. The trail follows the perimeter of park that is open to biking and has terrain ranging from unimproved roads to double and singletrack.

From the North, traveling Southeast, the trail overlaps with the Patriot's Path that once departing from the Yellow Trail is off limits to bikes. The section of trail past the ball fields and pavilion crosses a small steam, immediately followed by a healthy climb up a heavily eroded doubletrack. Just after parting ways with the Patriot's Path, the Yellow Trail becomes a very wide unimproved road with sections still used for camping access.

The road will take you through some more heavily weathered and eroded sections that are best avoided in lieu of the Red Trail but eventually intersects with the Orange / Black Trail at the top. From here, the pace of the White trail changes drastically, switching to fast sweeping singletrack. There are a number of climbs, switchbacks, bridges but nothing in the realm of "technical."
