Description

This trail runs along the southern edge of the woods with many different terrain changes. The trail runs through patches of cedar trees, past old pit mines, over rock obstacles, and grasslands.

Ladder Chute Trail and Stoffel Loop are accessed from this trail.

Covered Mine Shaft. This is one of about 7 covered abandoned lead mine shafts here in FDR Park. These are left over from the lead mining days of the late 1800's to early 1900's. The metal grate covers are solid and very reliable. Very interesting history here with many reminders of the past.
