The Upper and Lower Pinal Campgrounds have vault toilets and no-fee camping.

Description

This short but engaging trail can be used as an alternate access to Sixshooter Canyon, or you can use the forest roads to make a lap-ready circuit above the heat of the desert.

At the very end of Forest Road 651, you'll find a major cleared area with a stock tank and corral. The Ferndell Trail cuts into the woods from there and winds through an unusually lush, well-watered forest that may have wildflowers in season. The trail is mostly smooth and flowy but peppered with minor obstacles like rock drop-offs. Intermediate riders should be able to navigate most of these obstacles from the saddle, and even the hardest ones only require interrupting your flow briefly. This is a good trail to build your tech skills without frustration.
