Description
Barlow Canyon Trail is a fast and flowing downhill with great views and visibility.
The trail itself is easy to follow, although in places little more than a narrow singletrack since this particular trail appears to get relatively little use (by both hikers and riders) compared to neighbouring trails nearby.
The trail is in good condition for the vast majority of it's route, however there are some steeper sections which have been rutted by rain-run off, and some short narrow steeper portions which is why I've rated this one blue/black on the MTB Project scale.
The trail ends at a paved road which leads back into the main parking areas, close to where
Pipeline Trail and
Gilson Gap Trail trail also end.
Note: Like the majority of the trails in this park, this is technically a two-way trail, so be mindful of both foot and potentially bike traffic heading in the opposite direction. However, due to the severity of a couple of steeper portions, I would suggest this might well require you to hike-a-bike in the opposite direction, so do yourself a favour and use an alternative trail (such as
Toyon Ridge) to reach the top, then enjoy this as a fast and flowing downhill!
