Description

This is an old road that has been made non-motorized and turned into part of the Continental Divide Trail (CDT) Route. In the future the trail will likely narrow, and in places where it passes through grassland (a small section about halfway along, then at the very top) it is already becoming somewhat overgrown. The old road continues down the hill further than what is mapped, and if you miss the trail sign for the CDT it may be easy to continue too far without realizing.

The trail is accessed from the South via 6 Mile Creek Road, which is 4wd road that has some steep loose and rutted sections. Most riders using this trail to access the CDT also ride up 6 Mile Creek as it's not suitable for most vehicles. Parking can be found along the side of Dry Creek Rd.

The end of the access trail and the forest boundary is set in a pretty meadow with forested hills in the background.

The start of trail on the Eastern side is not well formed, but has some nice trails markers. Take GPS in case you can't find them!
